Responsibilities

Key responsibilities :


  • Responsible for strategic leadership and governance, develop and execute University’s vision,  mission and strategic plans; identify opportunities to advance the whole institution to the next level.


  • Develop and implement a long-term vision to establish GMU as a premier institution in medical education and  research. Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and inclusivity within the university community.


  • Periodically review, the mission,  goals, objectives of the University, and a long-range campus master plan for the physical development of the University. Also, to promote revenue,  profitability and growth as an Institution.


  • Work closely with Founder President to achieve the overall goals of the Education Division of  Thumbay Group.


  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of GMU, lead the university’s expansion, research initiatives, and global collaborations.


  • Work closely with COO to achieve profitability, develop and implement strategies for financial sustainability and profitability through optimum cost management.


  • Present academic and research growth in the Business Review meetings along with COO.

  • Strengthen partnerships with international academic bodies, government agencies, research institutions and healthcare institutions.


  • Attract distinguished international faculty and a diverse student body to enrich the university’s academic environment. Oversee faculty hiring, staff management, and student affairs.


  • Maintain and continuously enhance accreditation and quality assurance standards. Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards including UAE Ministry of Education (MOE), Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), EHS, Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority (DHA)/SEHA regulations.


  • Implements strategies and elevate the university’s standing in international rankings, foster global partnerships, attract international students and faculty, and promote international collaborations.


  • Ensure academic excellence & research development, oversee all College programs, foster research excellence and collaboration with hospitals, medical research centers, and international institutions to ensure they meet international standards and address emerging healthcare needs.


  • Promote interdisciplinary learning and research initiatives. Ensure faculty development and continuous medical education (CME) programs, promote innovation in medical education and AI-driven healthcare solutions.


  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure the university’s fiscal health, operational efficiency, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.
