Responsibilities

Individual Counseling:

  • Provide confidential counseling to students dealing with personal, emotional, or mental health concerns.

  • Help students explore and understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

Group Counseling:

  • Facilitate group counseling sessions on topics such as stress management, relationships, and academic success.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment for group participants.

Crisis Intervention:

  • Respond to crisis situations, such as mental health emergencies or urgent personal issues.

  • Connect students with appropriate resources for immediate support.

Workshops and Seminars:

  • Organize and conduct workshops and seminars on various topics relevant to student well-being.

  • Cover areas such as stress reduction, time management, and coping strategies.


Student Advocacy:

  • Advocate for student needs and concerns within the university community.

  • Work with administrators to address systemic issues affecting student well-being.

Referrals to Resources:

  • Connect students with external resources, such as mental health professionals, community services, or support groups.

  • Maintain a network of referral contacts.

Maintaining Confidentiality:

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality in counseling sessions.

  • Clearly communicate the limits of confidentiality to students.
