Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and manage the overall direction of the Institute, establishing it as a global leader in AI and healthcare innovation.
Develop a strategic plan for the Institute’s growth and sustainability, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the university and healthcare partners.
Promote the integration of AI into healthcare education, clinical practices, and research programs.
2. Research & Innovation:
Oversee the development of cutting-edge AI research and technology in areas such as medical imaging, predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), personalized medicine, and healthcare robotics.
Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers in AI, computer science, medicine, and other relevant fields.
Promote the translation of AI research into clinical applications, healthcare solutions, and products that can be implemented in real-world settings.
Lead efforts to secure research funding from government grants, industry partnerships, and philanthropic sources.
3. Program & Faculty Development:
Recruit, mentor, and retain top faculty, researchers, and staff with expertise in AI, data science, and healthcare.
Support the development and delivery of educational programs, including graduate and postdoctoral training in AI and healthcare.
Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange among faculty, clinicians, and data scientists.
Organize workshops, conferences, and symposiums to promote the Institute's work and engage the broader academic and healthcare community.
4. Operational Management:
Participate in Institute’s budget, including financial planning, resource allocation, and operational sustainability.
Ensure the institute has the infrastructure, equipment, and resources needed to support cutting-edge research and innovation.
Manage the administrative and research staff, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Institute.
Establish policies and procedures for the ethical development and deployment of AI technologies in healthcare, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
5. Outreach & Partnerships:
Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, technology firms, and research institutions to advance the adoption of AI in healthcare.
Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for AI in healthcare, representing the Institute at national and international conferences, industry events.
Foster public awareness of AI’s potential in improving healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
6. Ethics & Responsible AI:
Ensure that the development and use of AI technologies in healthcare adhere to ethical principles and prioritize patient safety and privacy.
Promote research and discussions on the ethical, legal, and social implications of AI in healthcare, ensuring responsible innovation.
Develop frameworks for the equitable deployment of AI to reduce healthcare disparities.
