Responsibilities
•Conducts safety inspections of vehicles operated for compliance to specifications and mechanical safety in accordance with the regulatory requirements. •Coordinate daily transportation routes, vehicles used, and number of drivers required and communicate information to the line manager. •Compile and adjust the transportation requirement to ensure optimum utilization of vehicle and other resources. Checks the vehicle requirement, prioritize and allot the vehicle accordingly. •Provide supervision and direction to drivers in transit. •Verifies the check-in/checkout sheets, for each transportation route and provides lists to drivers as per the standard operating protocol. •Ensure vehicle condition meets or exceeds the safety standards and that vehicle safety equipment is in place and in good working order. Regular and timely servicing of the vehicle is done as per the standard operating protocol. •Ensure all drivers complete daily written mileage reports and submit on time. •Perform minor maintenance of the vehicles, including fueling, oil checks and cleaning as and when required. •Schedule repairs and maintenance work to vehicles as needed. •Maintain an inventory of equipment, tools and other materials related to the transportation vehicles. •Ensure all vehicles are in clean order. Do daily checks and cleaning and reinforce with all drivers to keep the vehicle clean. •Ensure vehicle registration and other renewals are done within the timeline as per the standard operating procedure. •Responsible for the vehicle signage and sticker management, Municipality Add Permit/Freezer Permit/Box Permit/Parking Permit Management. •Responsible for the management of all the vehicle insurance services. •Operates the Geographical Positioning System, which entails monitoring and maintaining the systems database of vehicles and drivers. •Provides on demand detailed reports of vehicle locations and times from the GPS database. •Responsible to coordinate for accident management in case of crisis events and ensure the standard protocol is being followed. •Manages the traffic fines as per the standard protocol and within the regulatory guidelines. •Maintains log books and other relevant records.
