Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
Develop, update, and review curriculum content for life support training programs.
Ensure alignment with relevant guidelines, standards, and protocols.
Instructor Training:
Train and certify individuals to become life support instructors.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of instructors and ensure consistency in teaching methods.
Teaching Life Support Courses:
Instruct life support courses, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
Skills Assessment:
Coordinate and conduct skills assessments for participants.
Evaluate participants' performance in simulated emergency situations.
Simulation Management:
Oversee the setup and maintenance of simulation equipment and facilities.
Ensure the availability and functionality of manikins, AED trainers, and other training tools.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards in life support training.
Conduct periodic audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
Certification and Recordkeeping:
Manage the certification process for participants who successfully complete life support courses.
Maintain accurate records of participant certifications and training activities.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers:
Collaborate with healthcare institutions to align life support training with industry needs.
Stay updated on advancements in life support protocols and guidelines.
Continuing Education:
Provide ongoing education and updates to life support instructors on new techniques, guidelines, and research findings.
Ensure that instructors maintain their certifications and stay current in their knowledge.
Program Coordination:
Coordinate scheduling, registration, and logistics for life support courses.
Work with administrative staff to manage participant enrollment and communication.
Feedback and Improvement:
Collect and analyze feedback from participants and instructors.
Use feedback to make continuous improvements to training programs.
Community Outreach:
Conduct outreach programs to promote awareness of life support training in the community.
Establish partnerships with local organizations to expand training opportunities.
Emergency Response Training:
Provide training in emergency response procedures, including first aid and basic emergency care.
Ensure participants are well-prepared to handle various emergency situations.
Policy Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for life support training programs.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and update programs accordingly.
Research and Innovation:
Stay abreast of research in resuscitation science and related fields.
Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies into life support training.
