GMU’s contribution to the Development of the UAE Competency and Professional Practice Framework.

The development of the framework, as part of the UAE MOE call for nursing education reform, was supported by the Nursing Department at the Ministry ofHealth and Prevention (MOHAP), accelerated by the global pandemic, and a national collaboration of expert nursing academic leaders including Gulf Medical University. College of Nursing, Prof. Selva Titus Chacko has actively contributed in the Development of the UAE Competency and Professional Practice Framework. Service representatives of the three leading UAE healthcare service providers, including MOHAP, DHA (Dubai Health Authority), and SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services, Co.), also contributed in further refining the Framework as part ofthe UAE MOE call for nursing education


GULF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY SIGNS MOU WITH THE EMIRATI TALENT COMPETITIVENESS COUNCIL NAFIS

Prof. Hossam Hamdy, representing Gulf Medical University, signs an MoU on 19th September 2022 with Mr. Ghannam Al Mazrouei, secretary general of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council NAFIS, in an effort to increase Emirati citizen involvement in the health sector.

The ceremony was attended by senior members of the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization including but not limited to HE Saif Al Suwaidi Undersecretary for Emiratization Affairs and HE Ahmad Al-Nasser Assistant Undersecretary of National Human Resources Development in addition to other Higher Education providers.


COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY, GULF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY SIGNED ANMOU WITH APPOLONIA WORLD‘A HEALTHY SMILE NEEDS GOOD DENTAL CARE’

The College of Dentistry, GMU, Ajman established in 2008, committed to providing excellence in academia, research, and community service represented by Prof. Hesham Marei, Dean, COD; and Appolonia World, Appolonia Dentistry Clinics for Children, a pioneer in pediatric dentistry with a goal of providing outstanding service to society with the latest technology in dental and oral care represented by Dr. Yaser Haj Hamed, Chairman, and Managing Director, Abu Dhabi signed a memorandum of agreement on the 22nd of September 2022. The cooperation will include joint clinical training programs, workshops, and seminars for undergraduate students and interns along with research collaborations.


GULF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS SIGNS MOU WITH ADAM VITAL HOSPITAL

Gulf Medical University (GMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adam Vital Hospital (AVH) on July 11, 2023. This collaboration sets the stage for mutual benefits and promising opportunities.

Adam Vital Hospital, a renowned healthcare operator with its roots in Germany and a presence in Dubai, UAE since 2011, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

The primary objective of this MoU is to facilitate Academic Cooperation and Research Collaboration between GMU and AVH. Both institutions share a common vision and mission, making them ideal partners in advancing the field of healthcare and creating models of excellence in academic health systems.

We are excited to announce that as part of this collaboration, CoHME-GMU (College of Healthcare Management and Economics at Gulf Medical University) will organize an annual drive at the GMU Campus to facilitate AVH in selecting interns and prospective future employees. This initiative will provide an excellent opportunity for GMU students to gain valuable experience in a renowned healthcare facility like AVH.


GULF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY SIGNS MOU WITH BINSINA PHARMACY

On July 10, 2023 Gulf Medical University College of Pharmacy signed a memorandum of understanding with BinSina Pharmacy. The purpose of the MoU was to bring together academia and practice (in the community setting) in a way that we believe will benefit both. BinSina Pharmacy is one of the leading pharmacy chains in UAE. GMU PharmD student receive part of their Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Training in BinSina. The progressive nature of BinSina and the high quality training of our students led us to move forward in a formal partnership with them.

The partnership includes contributions form BinSina pharmacists to students training in relation to pharmacy management as well as training of BinSina Pharmacists in specific areas of research and academia. Joint certificate courses are in the planning between both institutions. We believe that our partnership will advance academia and practice and will eventually serve our patients and the society at large.


COLLEGE HEALTH SCIENCES, GMU SIGNS MOU WITH DR. D. Y. PATIL COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, PUNE, INDIA

College of Health Sciences, GMU, Ajman, UAE signed an agreement for strategic collaboration with Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune, India on 01 June 2023.

Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune, India considered as one of the premier institutes of Physiotherapy. It is recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) and the Maharashtra State Council of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy (MSCOTPT). The College offers graduate, post-graduate and PhD programs.

During the period 2020 to 2023, GMU collaborated with `1493 -collaborating institutions from across the world and published 639-co-authored publications. GMU’s Collaboration for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare

The Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH) at Gulf Medical University is a multidisciplinary educational facility that provides high-tech simulated and virtually created hospital set-up for clinical and communication skills teaching and training for all health care professionals. The GMU Simulation Center offers Training Programs & RCPE Online Courses to doctors, nurses and other health professionals. CASH is an AHA-accredited life support training site which offers BLS & ACLS courses regularly as well NAEMT Accredited training Site which offers PHTLS. CASH officially declared as an international centre to run MRCPUK PACES examination twice annually. CASH is a member of simulation related professional bodies like SESAM, ASPE,ASSH, SSH.

Gulf Medical University (GMU) commended ‘Global Healthcare Simulation Week’ at the Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare Department, raising awareness about the value of simulation among health professions students and faculty. The event also introduced the techniques of latest simulators offered by partnered distributors, subsequently providing a better learning on how to access, experience and explore theresources.

GMU’s Annual Medical and Science exhibition provides an important platform to motivate and encourage students interested in building their careers in medical and healthcare fields. Students participate in thousands to display their project work in different categories such as Music, painting, poetry, poster presentations, science projects, etc. Students are recognized for their participation and outstanding projects. GMU’s Future Scientist Program

The Future Scientists of the UAE program is a vibrant, productive, andmemorable program. Wewere constantly and extremely impressed by the GEMS student talent. Students had relentless curiosity and motivation. Accordingly, we remain committed to train such ambitious minds and hopethat this program willfurther enlighten them to discover biomedical research and its application inunderstanding and treating human disease.
