COLLEGE COUNCIL
The College Council at Gulf Medical University's colleges has a pivotal role in driving excellence and growth. It develops and reviews strategic projects, recommends faculty appointments and promotions, and fosters innovation and research. The council also approves curricula and assessment schemes, prepares the college's annual budget, ensures compliance with accreditation standards, and collaborates with other departments. It supports faculty and student development and addresses student concerns. Ultimately, the council's purpose is to enhance the college's educational experience and contribute to the university's success.

Decision-Making & Voting Right
The committee adopts a collaborative decision-making approach, ensuring that every member with voting rights has the ability to influence specific decisions. A simple majority, defined as more than 50%, is necessary for the approval of any given decision.
Responsibilities
Develop and review the college's strategic projects and follow up on their implementation.
Review and make recommendations for faculty appointments, promotions, and evaluations.
Foster an environment of innovation, research and scholarly activities within the college.
Initially approve new curricula or amending current curricula leading to the degrees of the college and recommend to the University Academic Committee for the approval.
Initially approve new assessment schemes or amending current schemes and recommend to the University Academic Committee for the final approval.
It shall prepare the annual budget of the College and recommend to the University Council for approval.
It shall recommend new developments within the College to the Vice-Chancellor Academic for approval.Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and external regulatory requirements through the reporting relation with the College Quality Assurance and Program Evaluation Committee.
Follow up on student concerns and grievances within the college through the reporting relation with the College Student Happiness Center.
Collaborate with other colleges and departments for interdisciplinary initiatives.
Support faculty and student development through workshops, seminars, and training programs.
Promote community engagement and outreach activities related to the college's expertise.
